The Poetry of Paper

The romantic image of the small paper mill set in a wooded valley near a flowing stream has provided the inspiration for many of the poems contained in this booklet. Others draw on the transformation of rags into a milky pulp for conversion into paper.

Explanations of the processes and interesting historic notes are included to help the reader.

These varied themes lead towards the more recent industrialised scene with ‘Girls in the Office’, the ‘Tea Lady’ and the ‘Factory Nurse’. You are sure to be amused by ‘Our Albert at Apsley with ‘is ‘orses ‘ead ‘andle’!
