Extra help and support
Thank you very much for being so accommodating and trying your best to provide an accessible service for me as a Deafblind person. The textures and smells made the whole experience much more powerful and accessible. I was blown by this educational experience.
We wish to invite everyone to share our passion for paper and will make arrangements for anyone with special requirements – just talk to us!
Parking
There is ample, cheap parking near to Frogmore Paper Mill. Durrant’s Hill Road carpark, is pay and display, with a row of spaces for those with Blue Badges, nearest the road. As site parking is limited we strongly recommend going straight to this car park which is HP3 9RG. In addition, outside our Fourdrinier Way entrance we have 2 spaces for those with disabilities. These can be secured if you let us know in advance.
Access
Our Visitor Centre is accessible via a ramp. The museum, shop, café, toilets and main part of the tour are on the ground floor. Floors in the Visitor Centre are smooth but slightly uneven when we enter the working mill areas. We have a lift to transfer people from the ground floor to the pulper floor and happily put out extra chairs for those that need a rest along the way. We are an old Victorian Mill, so modifications are not possible everywhere. For those visitors not able to use the final staircase, we can arrange an extra pair of hands to take those visitors on the flat, round to Fourdrinier No 2 externally. Many choose to stay at the top of the stairs as they can see and hear the tour guide from that vantage point. We just need to know in advance.
Toilets
The site has toilet facilities, including a separate disabled toilet at each end of the site.
Baby changing
Catering for all, we have a drop down baby changing facility in our visitor centre disabled toilet.
