Frogmore Paper Mill is in Apsley, the southern part of Hemel Hempstead, just behind the shops on London Road. The pay and display car park is in Durrant’s Hill Road and the main pedestrian entrance is just opposite. Please use Durrants Hill Road car park in any searches as the given postcode can cause issues. getting here by car:
If you’re coming by car, please use Durrant’s Hill Road pay and display car park, as the descriptor in any searches. The car park has 70 spaces and is located directly opposite the mill. For visitors with mobility difficulties, the car park includes disabled spaces and has electric vehicle charging points. This car park is the nearest location to our entrance. All you need to do is cross the road, turn towards your left and enter via the pedestrian gate set within the larger industrial gates.
The Fourdrinier Way gate (200 metres down on the left) is now used for boat trips and outside events only. It is also the access point for our office or the archive.
getting here by Coach:
Coach drivers should use postcode HP3 9RW to reach our coach parking area at the rear of the mill.
As soon as you turn into Frogmore Road, you will see the coach gates on your right.
If you call us 5 minutes prior to arrival, we can be there to greet you. 01442 234600. Passengers can alight from the coach in our parking area and a member of staff will guide the group to the correct location.
getting here by train:
By train, the nearest station is Apsley, served by trains every 30 minutes on the West Coast Main Line. From Apsley Station, it’s a 15-minute walk. Exit the station and turn left down the footpath to London Road. Turn left again onto London Road and walk past the mini-roundabout, Kent Brushes and Dunelm Mill. Then turn right into White Lion Street. At the end of this short road, turn right, then left after about 30 metres to reach the entrance.
Visitors can also use Hemel Hempstead Station. It is slightly further away but Frogmore Mill sits between the two. Hemel Hempstead Station has twice as many trains stopping, so a few more steps may be worth it when planning your journey. If you do use Hemel Hempstead (formerly Boxmoor) Station, walk down towards London Road, turn to your right and stay on the station side of the road. You will come to a small roundabout, again take the second exit (straight on). You will come to a major crossroads with pedestrian crossings, keep going straight, past Pets at Home (nearly there!) and into Apsley High Street. Cross over at the Pelican crossing and continue in the same direction. Take the next left into Durrants Hill Road, over the bridge and Frogmore Gates are on your right. You will see the Frogmore Mill Pond just before you get to the gate. For What Three Words users, the gate is /// papers.scuba.race.
getting here by Bus:
If you’re coming by bus, the No. 500 stops on London Road near Durrant’s Hill Road. The No. 2 and 321 buses stop on Lawn Lane, near the top of Durrant’s Hill Road. Frogmore Mill is around a five-minute walk from any of these stops.
