Welcome to our fundraising art auction. Many fabulous painters, printmakers, designers, ceramicists, stained glass artists, paper sculptors and engineers, plus a fore-edge painter have assisted us in our efforts to re-open Frogmore Paper Mill after the devastating fire of 2022. We have work by famous names and some less known to the general public but all wonderfully talented. See below if you do not believe us! The artists have agreed to sell their work with us taking part or all of the profit. We are extremely grateful for their generosity.
The auction event will be held at 6pm on Thursday 4th May in The Bridewell Hall at St Bride Foundation, 14 Bride Lane, Fleet Street, EC4Y 8EQ. Poet Simon Lamb will be joining us on the night and we are organising light refreshments, so it is not just auction and go! We very much hope you will join us. We are operating a free ticketing system to guide us for catering numbers only.

Poet, performer and storyteller, Simon Lamb and his recent publication, ‘A Passing on of Shells.’
Bidding
Bidding will start at 6.30pm. The auction will be delivered by a Bonhams auctioneer, who has volunteered his services. We are also grateful for his advice.
If you are interested in making a bid, there are two ways to do so. We will not be offering telephone bidding.
- If you cannot attend the auction, you may place a bid for your selected artwork here. Any bid will be a commitment to pay should you not be outbid at the auction event. The cut off for pre-auction bids is 8pm 27th April 2023.
- If you can attend the auction, you will be able to bid in the usual way. Starting prices are set by our artists and will be raised based upon any pre-auction bids. Commitment to pay will be required on the night, with completion of payment details and postal address. No artwork will exchange hands on the night.
Please note that should we receive bids of the same value for a single item, we will accept the first received but endeavour to notify all bidders. We advise you to look back at this page to see where bidding currently stands. Those bidding from overseas will have to pay postage.
Viewing the artwork
The Apsley Paper Trail Trust will not be hanging frames or creating a full art exhibition. Smaller artwork will be available to view from 28th April in the Layton Room at St Brides Foundation. The artwork on display at St Brides will be only that which can fit in the locked display cabinets. You can contact us if you want to know what items can be viewed there. As yet, which items will be there is unknown. We will update this when we can.
All artwork will be on display below and will be projected on screen during the auction. Please bear with us as we add to this page and check back regularly.
