Restore the Paper Machine Model
This paper machine model was rescued from a skip when the Bowater Mill in Ellesmere Port closed. It has suffered through the years and it needs the wooden stand restoring, the model itself needs cleaning and repairing and then the glass covers need to be re-installed. We’d also like to take the opportunity to install a light system that illuminates the various sections linked to a display that explains what the sections are and what they do. We have bought the glass for the encasing and can deal with repairing the stand, but will need some professional help with repairing the model itself, as well as with the info display system.
Update: As of 22nd January 2022, a large fire swept through our Visitor Centre, damaging the model. The intense heat of the fire softened the Perspex and it moulded itself over the model beneath. The model is now at Saints Salvage and Restoration, Staffordshire, where the large Perspex display case top, has been extracted and the model is being repaired. On return to Frogmore the model will be in prompt need of a new airtight display case.
