Heartfelt condolences from the Apsley Paper Trail on the sad loss of Peter Davis. Words from Hemel Hempstead Band.
“It is with great sadness that Hemel Hempstead Band announces the passing of Peter Davis after a short illness.
Peter joined the John Dickinson Band as a 14 year old, in 1946 when the band regrouped after the end of the Second World War. He served the band for 77 years; more than 70 years as a player, and many years as Chairman, and most recently as Band President. In recognition of his service to Brass Banding and the community he was invited to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace in 2006.
Peter worked tirelessly for the band. His knowledge and wise council with be greatly missed by everyone at Hemel Hempstead Band and we have passed on our sympathies to his wife, Eve, and their family.”
