Make the Baler Room Watertight
The baler room is very old and looks it. But the theatre and filming companies love it that way and as it stands it is a very good source of revenue for the mill. The main issue is (again) the leaky roof and lack of insulation, so it gets very cold for audiences coming to see a show in winter, and water leaking all over filming equipment is never good. An additional challenge is that any work has to be done in such a way that it does not start looking ‘modern’ which will put the film people off. We think the roof will be the main big ticket item and taking the same calculations as with the Pulper House roof, we think it will be £50-70.000 to get that done. Then other items will take the entire project to approx. £100K.
