Today they will mostly be wearing grey! Some of our exhibits are hard to recognise. Some of these are the ones we cannot restore. Others needed immediate attention and gentle a soapy wash to prevent ongoing damage, then packed to go to the specialist restoration experts. All the team assisted with the massive task, of rescuing, assessing damage, recording condition, washing and storing the exhibits. Full PPE was required due to the toxic ash.
