Storyboats
Ideal short entertainment sessions for the younger ones (3-9 years), which include a themed boat trip from Frogmore Paper Mill, down The Gade and joining the Grand Union Canal with storytelling, wildlife spotting and birdfeeding. Last about 40 minutes.
When: school holidays.
Time: starting from 11am.
Fee: From £5 – £15. Please see individual Storyboats for prices. Book in advance.
Most suitable for primary age children. All children must be accompanied. Every passenger must have a ticket as for insurance purposes, the number of passengers is limited to 12. If you are bringing a tot under 3, you can purchase one of our limited number of under 3 tickets, which are free. Our ideal is a boat of at least 6, 4-7 year olds.

FAMILY FUN FOR EASTER 2023>Easter Storyboats. Listen to the stories (4-8 year old audience) and spot the wildlife. There may even be opportunities to feed the birdlife and hopefully see any newly hatched chicks. The Gade River is full of wildlife and we will pause to feed any we spot. The Bryan Donkin boat leaves from outside our Visitor Centre in Fourdrinier Way, travels down The Gade to join the Grand Union Canal, where we will stop briefly. Stories and facts along the way. A gentle time filler for younger children on holiday… and their parents as all children must be accompanied. Lasts approximately 45 minutes. £6 per passenger whatever age, with a maximum of 12 passengers, plus crew. Booking essential. We have made a slight increase in our per person charge to assist fundraising towards our post-fire recovery.

FAMILY FUN FOR Whitsun 2023 Half Term trips down the River Gade, to join the Grand Union Canal, while stories are read. We try to pause to watch and feed any wildlife we meet along the way. The river is full of life and at this time we should see some young broods of goslings, cygnets, ducklings and moorhens. A gentle way for younger children, to spend some time during the school break. Our Bryan Donkin boat can take a maximum of 12 passengers, plus crew. Lasts about 45 minutes. £6 per passengers. Booking essential as these are very popular and sell fast.

SOLD OUT! FAMILY FUN FOR HALLOWEEN 2023 Halloween themed Storyboats, for afternoon and dusk. (We have lights!) Come dressed up and join our spooky crew for spooky tales and spooky goings on. The Bryan Donkin will be Halloween decorated and leave on time from the front of our Visitor Centre in Fourdrinier Way. Please arrive promptly. Booking essential. £8 per person.

ON SALE NOW FAMILY FUN FOR CHRISTMAS 2023 Santa Storyboats are very special. Santa makes a special visit to joins us, on our trip, in a festive Bryan Donkin boat. Dressing up is expected! Christmas themed stories will be told by our storyteller, as we take a trip down the River Gade, from outside our Visitor Centre, along the River Gade, down to the Grand Union Canal and back. Children will receive a gift from Santa. Our boat takes a maximum of 12 passengers plus crew. £12 per person. Lasts 45 minutes to an hour. Booking is essential to join the fun.

Drop-in crafting
the Apsley Paper Trail Trust at Frogmore Paper Mill prides itself in delivering fun and stimulating activities for children. Pop in for a morning or afternoon with the young ones. Select your project (eg birdhouse/ bunny,) as you pay and make use of our workstations, to decorate it to your liking. All the family welcome, pay by project blank. We supply all the materials, you can do all the messy, creative stuff and we do the clearing up.
