Demolition of our Visitor Centre is estimated to start around 25th April. The work will be undertaken by demolition experts who have already viewed the site and logistics of the task. As we are effectively an island in The Gade River, there will be no wrecking balls! The structure will be taken apart piece by piece, with minimal disruption and noise. It will not be silent but all of the work will be undertaken with our many neighbours in mind. We recognise that they also suffered the disruption on the night of the fire. There will be additional heavy vehicles, such as dumper trucks, so please bear with us over the 6-8 weeks this process takes. We did not want to find ourselves in this situation but now we are, we must deal with it and move forward towards creation of a museum, which celebrates the rich history of the area for our community and the public nationally, if not internationally. Notices will appear in the letterboxes of neighbours closest to us, when we have full details. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
