We have a large number of machine rolls on site. Each of them is different and used for a different purpose at a different section of the paper machine. Some of these are cast iron, some copper and we even have a granite one. Rather than them lying in a pile at the rear of PM2, we’d like to create a roll rack in which all the rolls can be stored and displayed, with little descriptions as to what they are, what they are for and where they would have been used on the machine. It would also be less messy looking than the current ‘pile’ of rolls at the end of PM2 and much easier to keep clean. It needs a sturdy rack built from heavy duty metal with a place for each individual roll – as they are all different sizes. We have the capability to design and build it, we just need about £2000 for the materials.
