The current pulper house is a ‘Dutch Barn’ design with a curved, corrugated, metal roof. The roof has been re-clad in the past and although the roof frame is in good condition, the corrugated metal is now so corroded that several large holes are letting through a great deal of water. The roof needs re-covering in it’s entirety and this is something we cannot do ourselves with our volunteers. Just the metal sheets for the roof and insulation materials will cost about £20,000 and then on top will come the installation costs – probably another £20,000.
