Since 2011, our experts have written a number of Gade Valley paper mill related publications. The authors are very much experts in their field. Michael Stanyon who set up the Apsley Paper Trail archive, has become an authority on the history of papermaking in the area.  He also delivers illustrated talks alongside currently writing a longer history of the paper mills of Hertfordshire.  Alan Penwarden, another longstanding archivist with interest in the history of Kings Langley, authored and co-authored some of the earlier publications. Paul Sturman, has first hand experience of growing up in a firefighting family and as the 4th generation of the Sturman family to work in the mill fire service at Home Park and Apsley.
